Mmmm that looks good, this will be Christmas gifts for this year and the next, omg 30% discount?! Let’s just get everything that looks suitable and I’ll pick out the best gifts!! But…I only have the budget for this Saturday’s birthday bash…
This is a serious situation in case you think this is a joke! How do I know? Well, let’s just say I have first-hand experience…on a daily basis heh.
[I get his passion, I mean what are the odds of finding that particular brand of food in your supermarket when you had to search high and low since it ran out of stock? Food is the real deal.]
[Unfortunately, this does not happen on a daily basis for me. So many choices available and yet we persist on not settling for second best. Ah, first world problems]
To me, this is what shopping means: taking time to search for something nice while munching on a snack, getting to touch an item, carry it along with me as I scout for possible alternatives (you know, just to be safe), ponder my options before I finally make a purchase~ [something that all my shopping partners gripe with heh ^^;]
Alas, all of this has changed since E-commerce emerged from its corner on the Internet!
With Internet access widely available and almost everyone equipped with a smartphone in most developed countries, consumers can now shopping whenever and wherever they may be! The many advantages include time efficiency, more options available, easy to compare prices and the list goes on…with that said, not everyone’s a happy camper. Everyone is different and has different needs and wants so it’s perfectly normal that online merchants can’t satisfy everybody. Some reasons may include:
- no matter the amount of details given about a product, we can still find ways to look for to discredit the information provided and continue our search for product inaccuracies
- buyers’ remorse: when was the last time you regretted purchasing an item? Now, with a simple click, we can purchase products without a second thought. Even though time is saved, the fact remains that we do not spend as much time deliberating when shopping online as compared to shopping at a brick-and-mortar store. with a shortened thought process, it is easier for us to purchase items on a whim, much to the displeasure of our pockets :c
